What The Client Wanted
We were contacted by this state-of-the-art gym, based in central London, to revive their external brass panels, along with aluminium curtain walling both internally and externally.
Project Scope
Starting the project
As the bronze panels had initially been painted almost 50 years ago, it was no surprise that they had begun to deteriorate with age. Along with the ageing paint, signs had also been glued to the substrate over the years, which also impacted the state of the material. As a company, our teams needed to choose not only the best method for both surface preparation, but also a specific coating method to ensure the perfect finish.
As the site was on a busy street in central London, it was imperative to assess the best method of access. The client opted for hiring our in-house scaffolding team, which ensured that they had all of the necessary permits before beginning the project.
Carrying out the project
The majority of the preparation work had been carried out during the weekdays. We then decided that all spraying work would be completed at the weekend when the area was not as busy with pedestrians walking underneath or around the scaffolding.
The works were completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to the gym who continued to trade throughout and the public footpath.
